Education

The Recycling Team are keen to work with schools in order to provide educational resources about recycling, waste and to help children and teachers to understand what happens to the waste in Leicester and how to recycle correctly in the city.

Visits to the Recycling Plant - see the Ball Mill in action!

A school visit lasts approximately 1 hr 30 mins and during this time the group (maximum 35 children) will get the chance to

  • Learn how to reduce and reuse rubbish
  • Learn about recycling at home and at school
  • Learn how rubbish is divert from landfill (by the Ball Mill)
  • See the Ball Mill in action
  • Plus activities and games

Recycling/education team visits to your school

If your school is unable to visit the plant, the recycling team can come to your school to

  • Provide a recycling assembly
  • Assist in lessons
  • Assist with lunchtime or after school clubs
