Kerbside Recycling Service 

Houses

All houses are entitled to a green recycling box. Please ensure your recycling box is presented at the edge of your property between 7.00am and 17.30pm on the same day and in the same way as your wheelie bin (unless you have been informed otherwise).

Boxes should be presented without lid.However, nets are available for recycling boxes and should be used on collection day, in order to prevent items from blowing out of boxes and littering the local area.

PAPER (Newspapers, magazines, holiday brochures, junk mail, office paper, catalogues, directories (including yellow pages) GLASS (Bottles and jars to be washed without caps/lids) PLASTIC BOTTLES ONLY (rinsed, squashed and lids off)	No envelopes, cardboard, books, cartons  No pyrex or broken glass   No other plastics, ie food trays, yoghurt pots, plastic packaging etc

Flats 

Currently, flats in Leicester are being assessed and where possible a recycling service is being offered. More often than not, communal bins are put in a shared area within the flats (such as the bin store.) 

Exactly the same items can be recycled through this weekly service as the green recycling box, except there is a separate coloured bin for each item.

Blue bin - paper (Newspapers, magazines, holiday brochures, junk mail, office paper, catalogues, directories (including yellow pages)

Yellow bin - plastic bottles only (washed, rinsed and squashed)

White bin - glass bottles/jars (washed, tops off)

Remember...

• Put your house number in the space on the front of your box (if not already done so)
• If your box goes missing and you need a replacement or you regularly recycle a lot and need an additional box, please contact us 
• If you would like a net for your recycling box to prevent plastic and paper items blowing around on collection day, please contact us. 
• Please remember that unwanted items will be left in the boxes (see table above for list of acceptable items).
